PROVINCIAL SERIES

This series is for athletes competing in STAR 5, STAR 6, STAR 7, STAR 8, STAR 9, STAR 10, Gold, Pre-Juvenile, Juvenile, Pre-Novice, Novice, Junior and Senior in Men, Women, Pair, Ice Dance and Artistic categories to qualify for the Provincial Championships.

Assigned athletes will be offered advanced registration for one event per competition block in the 2023-2024 competitive season. For skaters to be assigned to an event, completion of the Provincial Series Assignment Process Survey is required. Skate Ontario will endeavour to assign every skater who completes the survey to their first or second choice. The survey must be completed by Monday, September 11, 2023 at 11:59 pm. If you do not complete the survey by the deadline, you will not be included in the assignment process and must wait for public registration. Late survey completion requests cannot be accommodated. Athletes that would like to have their scores tracked with the goal to qualify for the 2024 Skate Ontario Provincial Championships must declare which category(ies) they would like to qualify in no later than February 22, 2024. A declaration form will be released prior to the first event in the Provincial Series Calendar.  

Provincial Series #1 – Keswick (K.I.S.)

  • The first Provincial Series competition of the season will be hosted by Skate Ontario with Georgina Skating Club, from November 24-26 at Georgina Ice Palace in Keswick. 
  • Registration for this event is now CLOSED.

Provincial Series #2 – Nickel Blades

  • This event will be hosted by Skate Ontario with Nickel Blades Skating Club, from December 1-3 at Garson Community Centre in Sudbury.
  • Assigned Athlete Registration for this event is now CLOSED.
  • Public Registration for STAR 1-4 and Supplementary categories opens to the public at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Sunday, October 1, 2023.

Provincial Series #3 – Nepean

  • This event will be hosted by Skate Ontario with Nepean Skating Club, from December 1-3 at Nepean Sportsplex.
  • Assigned Athlete Registration for this event is now CLOSED.
  • Public Registration, including STAR 1-4 categories & Supplementary categories, opens at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Sunday, October 1, 2023.

Provincial Series #4 – Stratford

  • This event will be hosted by Skate Ontario with Stratford Skating Club, from December 15-17 at the Stratford Rotary Complex.
  • Assigned Athlete Registration opens to all skaters who receive confirmation of advanced registration and the registration link at 12:00 pm on Friday, October 6, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Monday, October 9, 2023.
  • Public Registration, including STAR 2-4 categories, opens at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

Provincial Series #5 – Thunder Bay

  • This event will be hosted by Skate Ontario with Thunder Bay Figure Skating Club, from December 15-17 at the Thunder Bay Tournament Centre.
  • Assigned Athlete Registration opens to all skaters who receive confirmation of advanced registration and the registration link at 12:00 pm on Friday, October 6, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Monday, October 9, 2023.
  • Public Registration, including STAR 1-4 categories & Supplementary categories, opens at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Sunday, October 15, 2023. 

Provincial Series #6 - Lake Superior

  • This event will be hosted by Skate Ontario with Lake Superior Figure Skating Club, from January 12-14 at the John Rhodes Community Centre in Sault Ste. Marie.
  • Assigned Athlete Registration opens to all skaters who receive confirmation of advanced registration and the registration link at 12:00 pm on Friday, November 3, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Monday, November 6, 2023.
  • Public Registration, including STAR 1-4 categories & Supplementary categories, opens at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Sunday, November 12, 2023. 

Provincial Series #7 – Bowmanville

  • This event will be hosted by Skate Ontario with Bowmanville Figure Skating Club, from January 12-14 at South Courtice Arena.
  • Assigned Athlete Registration opens to all skaters who receive confirmation of advanced registration and the registration link at 12:00 pm on Friday, November 3, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Monday, November 6, 2023.
  • Public Registration opens at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

Provincial Series #8 - Milton

  • This event will be hosted by Skate Ontario with Milton Skating Club, from January 19-21 at the Sherwood Community Centre in Milton.
  • Assigned Athlete Registration opens to all skaters who receive confirmation of advanced registration and the registration link at 12:00 pm on Friday, November 10, 202, and closes at 11:59 pm on Monday, November 13, 2023.
  • Public Registration opens at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Sunday, November 19, 2023. 

Provincial Series #9 - LaSalle

  • This event will be hosted by Skate Ontario with Skate LaSalle, from January 26-28 at the Vollmer Complex in Windsor.
  • Assigned Athlete Registration opens to all skaters who receive confirmation of advanced registration and the registration link at 12:00 pm on Friday, November 17, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Monday, November 20, 2023.
  • Public Registration, including STAR 1-4 categories & Supplementary categories, opens at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Sunday, November 26, 2023. 

Provincial Series #10 - Temiskaming Shores

  • This event will be hosted by Skate Ontario with Temiskaming Shores Skating Club, from February 2-4 at the Shelley Herbert-Shae Memorial Arena in Haileybury.
  • Assigned Athlete Registration opens to all skaters who receive confirmation of advanced registration and the registration link at 12:00 pm on Friday, November 24, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Monday, November 27, 2023.
  • Public Registration, including STAR 1-4 categories & Supplementary categories, opens at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Sunday, December 3, 2023. 

Provincial Series #11 - Brampton

  • This event will be hosted by Skate Ontario with Skating Club Brampton-Chinguacousy, from February 9-11 at the Cassie Campbell Community Centre in Brampton.
  • Assigned Athlete Registration opens to all skaters who receive confirmation of advanced registration and the registration link at 12:00 pm on Friday, December 1, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Monday, December 4, 2023.
  • Public Registration opens at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

Provincial Series #12 - Gloucester

  • This event will be hosted by Skate Ontario with Gloucester Skating Club, from February 16-18 at Bob MacQuarrie Recreation Complex in Orleans.
  • Assigned Athlete Registration opens to all skaters who receive confirmation of advanced registration and the registration link at 12:00 pm on Friday, December 8, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Monday, December 11, 2023.
  • Public Registration, including STAR 1-4 categories, opens at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Sunday, December 17, 2023. 

Provincial Series #13 - Brantford

  • This event will be officiated remotely in real time by Skate Ontario officials. Results will be made available immediately. There will be a Skate Ontario Referee and Skate Ontario Representative will be on site. Questions should be directed to events@skateontario.org.

Provincial Series #14 - Thunder Bay Open

  • This event will be hosted by Skate Ontario with Thunder Bay Skating Academy from March 1-3 at the Thunder Bay Tournament Centre.
  • Assigned Athlete Registration opens to all skaters who receive confirmation of advanced registration and the registration link at 12:00 pm on Friday, December 15, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Monday, December 18, 2023.
  • Public Registration, including STAR 1-4 categories & Supplementary categories, opens at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 and closes at 11:59 pm on Sunday, January 2, 2024.

Skate Ontario Provincial Championships

  • This year's Provincial Championships will take place at the Cassie Campbell Community Centre in Brampton from March 21-24, 2024.
