posted Sep 25, 2017, 11:22 PM

The Glen Cairn Skating Club hosted a "Mini-Seminar" on September 16th to start off our 2017-2018 season and it was a great success!  The mini-seminar included instruction from World & Olympic coaches Robert Tebby and Tugba Karademir from the Mariposa Skating School in Barrie, Ontario.  The mini-seminar also included an off-ice component run by Ashley Holmes, a certified "Joga" instructor.

Stay tuned for more mini-seminars in the near future!

STARLIGHT PRENOVICE SYNCHRONIZED SKATING

This message is being shared on behalf of Cheryl Goldie, President, Goulbourn Skating Club

The Starlight Prenovice Synchronized Skating team still has a few spots available! If you are 13 years and older and working on your Senior Bronze levels and higher – we want you!  Synchronized skating, or 'synchro' is a specialized discipline of figure skating involving groups of 8-16 skaters performing various group formations and maneuvers. The objective is for the team to perform circles, blocks, lines, wheels and intersections in unison to the music, while demonstrating quality edges, power and flow.  The Starlight Prenovice team practices on Sundays from 2-5pm and will be competing in Montreal, Toronto, London and Ottawa this season!  Synchronized skating is a great addition to the StarSkate program and gives skaters an opportunity to compete in a team environment.  For more information please visit us at www.starlightsynchro.com or email us at starlight.mksc@gmail.com.
